Dear friends, partners and sponsors,
The month of March has been a busy but good month for the thinc. team. We have been focused on setting up the Israel on Trial fundamental course for lawyers and non-lawyers
Why is Israel so often accused of violating international law?
Recent weeks have seen an explosion in legal cases concerning Israel. In the International Court of Justice (ICJ) alone, there are three cases involving Israel. Israel is accused of committing genocide. It is accused of being an apartheid state. It is accused of illegal occupation and annexation of Palestinian territory. Israel is accused of establishing illegal settlements. Israel is accused of not allowing a Palestinian state to be created. And so on.
All these one-sided and often-unsubstantiated claims are amplified in (social) media. There is no other country in the world that is attracting such attention.
But what is REALLY going on? WHY is Israel being attacked in courts of law? WHAT are the arguments for and against each of these allegations?
At thinc., we believe that it is important to do real research into the history of the conflict. This includes the way that international law has been used (and continues to be used) by all sides.
That’s why we have developed the Israel on Trial Foundational course program an eight-week online course that takes you on an educational journey through the legal, military and political history of Israeli-Arab conflict over the past 100 years (and beyond). This course enables lawyers and non-lawyers to understand the legal discourse regarding the Arab-Israeli conflict, and tools to engage in debate.

How can you help?
We need additional funds to help us cover our budget of setting up and launching this course (content-creation, high-quality recordings, learning platform, marketing, etc). The budget required for this project is 25,000 euro. Would you be willing to contribute? We’d love to hear from you or you may donate directly through this link:
Keep tuned to learn more about the course and join in the next edition.
